Elementle is a challenging game that requires players to use their knowledge of the periodic table to guess the randomly chosen element for the day. The game features six categories of elements, each with its own difficulty level.
In the alkali metals & alkaline earth metals category, players have to guess elements such as lithium, sodium, and calcium. These elements are generally easier to guess as they are more commonly known.
In the transition metals category, players have to guess elements such as iron, copper, and gold. These elements are slightly more difficult to guess as they are less commonly known.
In the metalloids & post-transition metals category, players have to guess elements such as silicon, tin, and lead. These elements are even more difficult to guess as they are not as well-known as the elements in the alkali metals & alkaline earth metals and transition metals categories.
In the diatomic nonmetals category, players have to guess elements such as nitrogen, oxygen, and fluorine. These elements are more difficult to guess as they are not metals, and therefore less commonly known.
In the polyatomic nonmetals category, players have to guess elements such as sulfur, phosphorus, and chlorine. These elements are even more difficult to guess as they are not only nonmetals but also exist as molecules with more than one atom.
In the noble gases category, players have to guess elements such as helium, neon, and argon. These elements are the most difficult to guess as they are inert and do not readily react with other elements, making them less commonly known.
To make the guessing process easier, the game's improved periodic table grays out the impossible elements in each category, allowing players to focus on the possible options. Players have a limited number of guesses, which adds an extra level of difficulty to the game.
